Stephen Francis Cook was 30 when he disappeared on July 2, 1983, during a fishing trip off Davenport, California. He left early that morning with two experienced fishermen, John Lusher Jr. and Sanford Delano, and the three set out about three miles offshore. The group never returned and their boat was never found.
