Has anyone else been following the efforts of the Sitka Dive Rescue team during the jury trial this week? I was particularly struck by the testimony of Captain Aaron Dupuis regarding the extreme weather conditions that made recovery attempts so difficult. It's often easy to overlook just how treacherous the conditions can be out on the water, especially during the winter months. It's clear that the team was incredibly cautious and prioritized their own safety while trying to do everything they could. I really feel for them having to make those tough calls in such a dire situation. Anyone else have thoughts on how these challenges play into recovery operations?
