I've been following the Ernest LaGrande Vereen case, and something that's been nagging at me is the ransom drop-off location. Does anyone else find it odd that the money was supposed to be left under a bridge in Myrtle Beach? This seems like such a public and risky spot for a handoff. Were there really no better options for the kidnappers, or was this part of a bigger plan to frame Owens? It's unsettling to think that they felt so confident in their plan that they didn't worry about being seen. I wonder if there were any surveillance cameras or witnesses nearby that might not have been mentioned in the case files. Could this location hold more clues that were simply overlooked? Would love to hear others' thoughts on the strategic choice of drop-off spots in ransom cases like this.
Hey everyone, I've been piecing through some old articles and court documents on the Ernest LaGrande Vereen case. Here's something that piqued my interest: The driver’s license left with the ransom note. It makes me wonder, why would the kidnappers leave such a personal item? Seems risky, no? Was it meant to prove they had him or maybe just to taunt the family? I’m also curious about the handwritten note itself. Was there ever any forensic analysis done on it? Handwriting comparisons with Owens or anyone else? It just seems like such a key piece of evidence that might tell us more than we know. Thoughts?
