Has anyone else been following the case of Steven Edward Shimota from 1985? I came across his disappearance while reading about Minnesota cold cases and it's such a mystery. Why don’t we hear more about cases like his? There seems to be so little information available, which makes me wonder about the time of his disappearance. In 1985, what was Minnetonka like? Maybe environmental factors or social dynamics of that time could have influenced how the case was handled. Also, with DNA technology advancing so much, could it be that we're just one small piece of evidence away from solving the case? It seems like families have to endure decades without any answers. Hoping that someday there will be an update on Steven’s case. Does anyone local to Minnetonka know if there are community efforts or discussions happening around his case?

Just curious if anyone else has looked into the fact that Steven Shimota vanished on April 20th, which is also the anniversary of some other major events that could have impacted people's lives in different ways. I know we shouldn't read too much into dates, but it's an odd coincidence, right? It makes me wonder if there’s any significance or if someone out there might have been focused on that date for reasons related to Steven’s disappearance. Could there be any connections we're missing? Maybe other cases around that time share a similar profile or circumstance. Thoughts?

Hey everyone, I was digging through some old cases and stumbled across the disappearance of Steven Edward Shimota. Has anyone ever looked into the places he frequented or any connections he might have had in Minnetonka back in 1985? I know it’s been a long time, but sometimes overlooked spots in town or past acquaintances can hold clues. It seems like there’s such a frustrating lack of info on him before he disappeared. Maybe interviewing people affiliated with the local community who might remember him could jog some memories. Always worth trying to piece together any small detail we can, right? Would love to hear any thoughts or theories folks might have on this angle.
