I’ve been thinking a lot about Bert J. Small’s unsolved case lately. It's so chilling that despite all efforts from the police and the community, there's still no closure. It breaks my heart to think how his family and friends must feel, living with unanswered questions for so many years.
What stands out to me about Bert's case is the location—Berkley Road. I’ve read that it might have been considered a quiet neighborhood back then, which makes this even more unsettling. It’s hard to imagine something like this happening in such a place. Could it be that someone familiar with the area, someone people might not have noticed, was involved? Often perpetrators know the area well enough to slip away unseen.
This strategy of blending in seems all too common in cases that remain unsolved. Has anyone looked into local activities around that time? Any gatherings that might've drawn an outsider's attention? It feels like the smallest detail could be the key to unraveling this.
I also wonder if with time, someone who knows something might finally feel ready to come forward. Columbus has changed over the years, and maybe people are more willing to speak up now. I'm hopeful for Bert's family that there will be progress one day. If anyone new has come across this case or has insights, even just sharing thoughts here might encourage the right person to speak up.
