Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about the eerie circumstances surrounding the Miss Black Diamond and wondered about the weather at the time these guys went missing. Anyone know if there were any specific reports of storms or rough seas in the Gulf around January 1st, 1994? It seems plausible that a sudden squall could’ve caught them off guard, especially knowing how unpredictable weather can be out there. Would love to hear if someone’s dug into old weather data or remembers hearing anything about conditions that week. Maybe it could give some context to what might’ve happened.
I stumbled across the case of Robert Richard Remmer and Eugeniusz Pastula a while back and have been intrigued ever since. I keep thinking about that 42-foot fishing vessel, the *Miss Black Diamond*. It’s odd to me that the cabin and pilothouse were just gone when they found the boat. Does anyone know if they ever figured out what caused that kind of damage? I know there was talk about a big wave during a storm, but you’d think that there might be more evidence on the boat. Maybe debris or something? Also, if the storm was that intense, there would've been reports from other vessels in the area, right? This whole scenario makes me wonder what conditions were really like out there.
