I was reading through the old articles about the Leathers Oil Company case, and something struck me as odd about Thies’ disappearance. Does anyone else find the timing of when the authorities actually started looking for Thies suspicious? From what I gather, the murders happened on January 17, 1994, but it wasn’t until almost a month later when he vanished on February 10. Was there ever any suggestion or coverage about where he was during that interim period? It seems like such a narrow window for someone to plan an escape, but maybe it’s just me. Also, has anyone heard of potential sightings over the years, or is it possible the trail went cold pretty fast after he left? I wonder if he had any help. Just trying to make sense of this complex case!

I’ve been following Tyrom Walter Thies' case for a while now, and something that's been eating at me is the lack of clarity around the alleged theft that led to his firing. I mean, how solid was the evidence against him for stealing from the gas station register? It's often mentioned as a motive for the murders and his subsequent disappearance, but details are sketchy. Was it a significant amount, or could it have been a setup or misunderstanding? If the theft claim isn't as strong as it's portrayed, it might shift the suspicion or at least add another layer to understanding his actions or innocence. If anyone has more information on this particular aspect, I'd love to hear it. It feels like one of those areas that's critical to piecing together the bigger puzzle of why he might have done what he's accused of or if it was even him at all. Thoughts?
