Does anyone else find it curious how Jonathan Aujay, a seasoned outdoorsman, could just vanish without a trace in an area he's presumably familiar with? I’ve been reading about his case, and while his vehicle was located and a few footprints were found around the Devil’s Punchbowl, it’s baffling that these were the only signs left behind. It makes me wonder about the terrain up there and how difficult it would be to get lost if you’re experienced. I’m not from California, so I don’t know what the area’s like firsthand. Could someone local or knowledgeable about the Angeles National Forest shed some light on how risky it actually is for a solo trail runner or hiker, even one as skilled as him? Was it common back then for search and rescue efforts to come up so empty-handed in such cases? It's such a frustrating situation—one minute everything seems fine, and the next, a person just disappears without a shred of evidence to tell us what truly happened.

Has anyone else looked into the oddities of Operation Silent Thunder in connection with Jonathan Aujay's disappearance? I was just reading through some old articles and noticed that this operation was targeting methamphetamine traffickers right around the time Jonathan vanished. It makes me wonder if there could be any link, even though nothing concrete has been found. Given his role in law enforcement, it's not too far-fetched to consider he might have stumbled onto something dangerous. Or could it have been something as simple as him being in the wrong place at the wrong time while involved in a big operation? I know these are just speculations, but the timing seems suspicious to me. Anyone have thoughts or additional info on this?

Has anyone looked into the possibility of wildlife involvement in Jonathan Aujay's disappearance? I know this is a bit out there, but given that he went missing in the Angeles National Forest, which is home to mountain lions and bears, could wildlife have played a role? I haven't seen much mention of this angle in reports or discussions. It's a long shot, but sometimes nature can be unpredictable, and as experienced as he was, maybe something went wrong that day. Thoughts?
