Has anyone else looked into the exact location and weather conditions the day Edward Scott Cody went missing? I read somewhere that the Gulf can be notoriously unpredictable, and it makes me wonder if sudden weather changes could have played a role in what happened to him. I know his gear was found, but I'm curious if there were any reports of storms or strong currents around that time that could have affected his dive. I'm thinking about how quickly something can go wrong out at sea, especially if you're diving alone. Just seems like an angle worth exploring. Would love to hear thoughts from anyone familiar with diving or the area's maritime conditions back in '98.

Hey everyone, I've been following Edward Scott Cody's disappearance for a while, and something that keeps gnawing at me is the condition and positioning of his boat when it was found. I mean, it was still anchored, which suggests that he was prepared and took standard safety measures before diving. This makes me wonder if there might have been an unexpected equipment failure or health issue that led to the mishap. Also, has anyone considered the possibility of a sudden change in underwater conditions that day, like currents or visibility? It just seems strange that an experienced diver like Cody wouldn’t have returned to the boat safely otherwise. Would love to hear others’ thoughts on this angle or if anyone has insight into similar cases where equipment was found but the person wasn’t.
