I was thinking about Derrick Sturgill’s case and how crucial eyewitness testimonies can be in these kinds of situations. Does anyone know if there were any neighbors on Deeds Avenue who reported seeing or hearing anything the night he was killed? It's hard to imagine there were no witnesses given it was a residential area and the incident happened around 10 p.m. I wonder if fear of retaliation might be keeping potential witnesses silent. My heart goes out to his family and friends, who are still waiting for answers. It seems like any small detail could make a difference and help bring justice to Derrick. What are everyone’s thoughts on the role of community in solving crimes like this?

I’ve been following Derrick Sturgill’s case for a while, and I'm really struck by the fact that it’s still unsolved after all these years. I can’t even imagine what his family is going through, not knowing who did this or why. I read that Derrick was specifically targeted, which makes me wonder what was going on in his life at that time. From what’s been shared publicly, it seems like the detectives did follow a lot of leads, so it must be frustrating for them as well. The community must feel uneasy too, knowing something like this happened and nobody’s been brought to justice. It just doesn’t sit right with me that his name is still on the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation's list of unsolved cases. If there’s anybody out there who remembers something—or maybe heard something later on—I really hope they come forward. No piece of information is too small. Derrick’s family and friends deserve answers, and it would be a relief to finally see this case closed.
