Has anyone else been puzzled by the lack of progress in Keith Spelhaug's case, especially given the early indication by the cadaver dogs in 2004? It seems strange that there was such a strong indication by the dogs near the lake, yet nothing was found when it was drained. I'm wondering if newer technology or methods in forensic search that we see today might yield different results. I know the case has gone cold, but it feels like there might be undiscovered clues even after all this time. Does anyone know if there have been any recent efforts to revisit this unsolved case with fresh eyes or techniques?

Does anyone else find it odd that Keith Spelhaug left his eyeglasses behind? For someone with a medical condition like his, you’d imagine he'd take essentials with him, especially if he was planning to be out for a longer time this time. I haven’t seen much discussion around what this could mean. Could it be indicative of his mental state at the time? Maybe he left in a hurry, thinking he’d rush back soon, or perhaps he wasn’t planning to take a walk at all. It just doesn’t sit right with me that you’d leave such a vital item behind. With his poor vision, it may have been challenging to navigate the woods safely, which makes things all the more worrying. What do you guys think? Could this detail shed light on what might have happened or where he might have headed that day? It feels like a clue that’s been somewhat overlooked.
