Has anyone else been puzzled by how Frederick McLean managed to stay off the radar for so long? I mean, the guy was on the U.S. Marshals' 15 Most Wanted list, and still, he lived under an alias in Seneca, South Carolina, undetected for over 16 years until his death! It just shows the kind of resources he must have had at his disposal. The fact that he disappeared without a trace and maintained a low profile is baffling. I can't help but wonder about the steps he took to cover his tracks so effectively. Do we know if there was anyone aiding him, or was he just extremely careful and good at this double life gig? This case makes me question how many more like him might still be out there, comfortably hidden. Anyone have any thoughts or theories on how such a long-term fugitive could stay hidden for years like this?

I came across the Frederick McLean case recently and something that caught my attention was how he managed to live undetected for over 16 years. It makes me wonder about the ways these fugitives establish new identities and blend into communities without raising suspicion. McLean had significant financial resources, which certainly helped, but living so long under an alias must have been nerve-wracking. Did anyone ever notice something was off about him? It's a scary thought that someone with such a dark past can just disappear into a quiet neighborhood. It also makes me think about other fugitives out there who might be doing the same thing. How do communities protect themselves or become more aware of who might be living among them under false pretenses?
