It's always puzzled me how little information there is about Dorothy Jean Herbert's disappearance. She was last seen in the hustle and bustle of Jacksonville, yet it's like she vanished into thin air. I’ve been digging through news archives and forums looking for any snippet of info that might have been missed, but there's virtually nothing more than what's commonly reported. I wonder if there were any surveillance cameras near the homeless shelter on South McDuff Avenue back in 2007. Even though it might not have been as common to have security cams everywhere back then, they still existed. Anyone know if the local businesses in that area utilized them around that time? It could have been crucial in tracking her movements or who she might have been with. Thoughts from anyone local to Jacksonville who might remember if there was talk about Dorothy back then? Always hopeful for a breakthrough, no matter how small.

Does anyone have any information on the specifics of the homeless shelter Dorothy Jean Herbert was last seen at? It's been nagging at me that her brother saw her there on New Year's Day, but details about that location always seem so scarce. Was the shelter staff ever interviewed, or did any other residents report anything unusual around that time? It seems like a critical part of the investigation that might have clues or witnesses that were possibly overlooked. I just can’t wrap my head around how there’s so little to go on from such a populated place. Any insight would be great!

Has anyone else looked into the area around South McDuff Avenue where Dorothy Jean Herbert was last seen? I came across a map of Jacksonville and noticed that part of the city has a lot of transient activity, which makes me wonder if there are similar missing person cases from that vicinity. It's been over a decade now without any solid leads or answers, which is incredibly frustrating. I imagine that particular area might have had some challenges for investigators, like limited security camera coverage or temporary residents who might have moved on since then. Anyone local or familiar with the area have insights on how it's changed over the years or any community efforts that might not have been widely reported? Her family deserves answers, and even the smallest details could potentially help piece things together.
