I’ve been following Sofia Khan's case since it first happened, and something that keeps puzzling me is the conditions on Lake Michigan that day. I know the lake can be unpredictable, especially with the wind patterns, but does anyone here have knowledge about weather conditions or historical data for that area around early June 2010? It might help us better understand how the kayak ended up so far out. Also, I read that kayaks can drift pretty fast without the right stabilizing factors—any nautical enthusiasts here who can shed light on how quickly a kayak could drift in those circumstances? It's one of those elements that might seem minor but could offer more clarity on what went wrong that day.
