Has anyone looked into the history of the Black River currents near Lockhart Landing? I've been reading about Cavilee's disappearance, and since he was last seen near that sharp bank, I'm wondering if the river's current could have been a factor. Is the current strong enough at that point to sweep someone downstream quickly? With all his stuff left behind, it seems like an accident is possible, but then again, it's strange nothing ever turned up in searches. Any locals or experts on river conditions have insights?
Has anyone considered the possibility of sleepwalking in Cavilee's case? I know it might sound a bit out there, but sometimes people can move around and even appear functional while completely unconscious. Given the circumstances, if he was in a deep sleep and had consumed a lot of alcohol, there's a chance he might have gotten up in a sleepwalking state and wandered off without realizing the danger he was in. It might explain why his belongings were left behind and why there hasn't been any trace of him since. I wonder if any of his friends or family ever mentioned if he had a history of sleepwalking?
Even though this is just a theory, it might be worth looking into. If you've ever camped at Lockhart Landing or know the area well, could someone feasibly disappear without leaving a trace, especially if they're not entirely in control of their faculties? Just throwing some ideas out there hoping to stir up some discussion.
