I came across Gerald Rabourn's case while looking into caregiver scams, and something just doesn't sit right with me about how Denise Goodwin managed to evade detection for so long. I mean, she was practically living a double life, siphoning off nearly $600k from his accounts without anyone noticing at first. It just makes you wonder about the safeguards in place to protect elderly and vulnerable people when they're relying on caregivers. It's frustrating that these systems fail, and it seems like maybe more could have been done to catch this sooner. Does anyone have insights on what steps families can take to better protect their loved ones in these situations? It feels like there must be more we can do to prevent tragedies like this.
