Has anyone else been puzzled by why it took so long to identify John Gilbert Farfan’s remains? I mean, the remains were found in December 2013, but it wasn’t until May 2015 that they were identified. That's over a year! I know these things can take time, but I can’t help but think about what could have sped up the process. Was it just a backlog at the lab, or was there something unique about the remains that complicated things? It just feels like a painfully long wait for answers for his loved ones. Also, with Shiloh Ranch Regional Park being a pretty popular place for hikers and nature enthusiasts, does anyone else wonder how the remains went unnoticed for so long before being discovered? It's all just so perplexing.

Does anyone else find it strange how long it took to identify John Gilbert Farfan's remains after they were found? From what I understand, he went missing in 2011, and the remains were discovered in 2013, but they weren't identified as his until 2015. That's nearly two years—what could cause such a delay? Was it because the remains were too deteriorated, or was there a backlog with the testing? I'm curious if anyone has insights into how these processes work or if there's something specific about this case that caused the hold-up. It just seems like his family had to endure such a long wait for answers, and here we are years later, still trying to piece together what happened to him.
