Has anyone stumbled upon information about Christopher Cessna's case that might provide some closure? I recently went through a few old articles about him and noticed there's not much focus on the days leading up to his disappearance. I wonder if anyone encountered Christopher or noticed anything unusual around Newfound Gap or on the Appalachian Trail before April 27, 2011. It seems like a missed opportunity not to highlight witness sightings or any odd activity in the park during that time. I'm curious if anyone local heard something back then that might not have been reported. Any thoughts on revisiting this angle or if park visitors in that period were ever asked to come forward with info? It's been a long time, and maybe a fresh perspective could help jog someone's memory.

Hi everyone, I’ve been following the discussion on Christopher Lee Cessna's case and I’m curious about something that hasn’t been mentioned much. Given that his car was parked at Newfound Gap, a popular spot with extensive trails, I wonder if there’s been any consideration of potential wildlife encounters? The Smoky Mountains are home to a variety of wildlife, and while it’s rare for animals to harm humans, it’s not impossible, especially if someone is off the main trails or injured. I haven’t found much information on usual wildlife activity in that area during late April. Does anyone have insights or resources that might shed light on this aspect? Just trying to cover all angles here. Thoughts?
