Does anyone else find it surprising that they never found any trace of Frank Wilson Johnson despite the extensive searches? I know Nelson's skull was found years later, but it makes me wonder if there are parts of the Virgin River or canyon area that still haven't been explored or scanned thoroughly. That area is definitely treacherous, especially during a flash flood, but with all the technological advances in search methods, could it be worth doing another sweep of certain areas just in case? Maybe some locals or frequent hikers have noticed anything unusual over the years. Just curious if there's any ongoing interest or new efforts by either authorities or volunteer groups to close this cold case.
