Hey all, I was digging through some old cases and I stumbled upon the disappearance of Bruce Boughton from 1975. What really stands out to me is the delay in reporting him missing—it wasn't until 1979 that he was officially reported, which seems odd. I’ve read that back then, it could sometimes take a while for missing person cases to be filed, but four years is quite the stretch. It makes me wonder if Bruce's disappearance was initially brushed off or if there were other reasons for the delay. Does anyone have any insights into how missing person reports were handled back in the '70s, especially for military personnel? It seems like there should've been more urgency given his Air Force ties. Thoughts?
