I recently stumbled upon Norma Mae Maynard's case, and something just doesn't sit right with me regarding that note she supposedly left behind. If Norma really was planning to travel to Los Angeles, why did she leave without her personal belongings like her checkbook and jewelry? I mean, wouldn't you at least take your checkbook if you're heading across the country? Plus, if her intention was to escape and start anew, is it plausible that she would use her signature on a check post-disappearance to pay for her husband’s funeral? The piece about the Greyhound station employee seeing someone like her is troubling, especially since it couldn't be confirmed. It just seems off that someone who rarely traveled alone would embark on such a long journey by herself. It's understandable that grief might have pushed her to make spontaneous decisions, but the inconsistencies and the use of her signature after she vanished keep raising questions for me. Anyone find these details weird, too?
