I’ve been thinking about Patricia Adele Calatrello's case lately, especially about the weather conditions during that trip. The Catalina Channel can be notoriously tricky, and it got me wondering—what was the weather like between February 10-12, 1979? Did it play a role in why they got disoriented and why Patricia might have gone overboard? A sudden breeze or swell could make a world of difference. Has anyone come across any old weather reports or news articles from around that time? Seems like any info about the conditions could help us understand more about what might have happened. Also, does anyone know if they had any navigational aids on the boat?
Hey everyone,
I recently came across the case of Patricia Adele Calatrello, who disappeared back in 1979 while she and her husband were on their boat near Catalina Island. One thing that really got me curious is the weather conditions they might have faced during their trip. February can be pretty tricky with sudden fog and choppy waters in that area. Does anyone know if there were any reports of bad weather around the time Patricia went missing? I'm wondering if that could have contributed to them getting disoriented at sea. It seems odd that an experienced boater would struggle so much with navigation unless there were some serious weather challenges. Would love to hear if anyone else has thoughts or info on this angle!
I’ve been following Patricia Calatrello’s case and something keeps bugging me: the timeline of when she was last seen before she disappeared. Her husband mentioned they were disoriented and struggling to navigate back. Does anyone else think it’s odd that she vanished in the early hours, presumably while her husband was asleep? If they were so disoriented, wouldn’t they be working together to try and get back safely? Also, navigating at night when they were already lost is risky, right? Wondering if there’s more to what was happening on that boat during those crucial hours. Anyone else have thoughts on this or similar cases?
