Has anyone looked into whether Adelaida might have been involved with any social or political groups in Miami at the time of her disappearance? I remember reading that the late 70s and early 80s in Miami were pretty tense, with a lot of activity from different political and community groups, especially among those who had recently emigrated from Cuba. It's possible she could have been connected in some way and felt she needed to disappear suddenly because of it. Just a thought, but maybe it's an angle that needs to be looked at if it hasn't already. It could also explain the urgency in her phone call to her daughter. Curious to hear if anyone else has thought about this or knows more about Miami's Cuban community during that period.
I’ve been thinking a lot about Adelaida Vargas’s case and how bizarre it is that she vanished without a trace right after that frantic phone call. Has anyone looked into what might have been troubling her to such an extent? It must have been something big for her to warn her family like that. And the fact that she didn’t pack any belongings seems to suggest she was in a hurry or didn’t plan on being away long, don’t you think? I wonder if there could be a connection to something from her past in Cuba. Maybe someone from back there was involved, or she was running from something specific? It feels like there’s so much more to uncover about her background and context around her life in the U.S. If anyone has any theories or additional info, I’d love to hear what you think!
