Has anyone else looked into the weather conditions around the time of Thelma Melton’s disappearance? I’ve been reading some older reports and it seems like it was a typical day for hiking, but I can't help but wonder if there was some sudden change that could have caught her off guard. Maybe a sudden fog rolled in or there was unexpected wildlife that might have spooked her? I know the area can have unpredictable weather at times, and I wonder if something like that could have contributed to her losing her way, even on a familiar trail. It’d be interesting to hear if anyone else has come across any details about the weather that day or has thoughts on how those conditions might have played a role.
