I've been thinking about the circumstances surrounding David Buller's tragic murder and can't shake the thought of how his colleagues and students must have felt. The university building itself seems like an unusual setting for such a violent crime. Given that his attack happened during the day when people were around, it baffles me that no one saw or heard more. Imagine the weight of working at or attending the university, knowing a respected professor lost his life so violently in what's supposed to be a safe place for learning and creativity. It's puzzling and chilling that the crime scene didn't offer any leads. No DNA, no fingerprints, not even a weapon. And the fact that voices and a loud thud were heard, yet nothing concrete came of it, makes it even more frustrating. I can't help but feel for the cleaning lady who found him, as well as those who worked or studied in the building. The lack of closure after all these years just adds to the sorrow for his family and those who knew him. Do you think it's possible someone close to him might have seen something critical, even small, but hasn't stepped forward yet? It seems the smallest detail could potentially bring this cold case back to life.
