I recently stumbled upon Jose Manuel Gonzalez's case from 1989, and it's really perplexing how little we know about his situation. What's puzzling to me is the complete absence of DNA data. I mean, given the advances in technology over the years, having some DNA on file might have helped compare with unidentified remains or even familial matches. I wonder if any efforts have been made to collect DNA from family members now to aid in the search or if maybe there were barriers at the time preventing this. It's curious how different investigations were back then. If anyone knows more about how DNA could play into older cases like this, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Has anyone else looked into the details of Jose Manuel Gonzalez's last known whereabouts? I’ve been trying to piece together what might have been happening around Montebello in December 1989, but it's kind of a black hole. I haven’t found a lot about local events or anything out of the ordinary during that time. Was the area known for any particular activity back then that might give us a hint? Maybe someone local from Montebello during the 80s might have insights that haven’t come out in the news or databases. It’s crazy how a person can just vanish like that. Every little bit of info might light the way to more answers.
I was going through old case files and stumbled across the one about Jose Manuel Gonzalez. What's really baffling to me is the fact that even after all these years, there seems to be little to no trace of what could have happened to him. I mean, how can someone just vanish without leaving behind a single piece of solid evidence? It’s like he disappeared into thin air.
I’ve also noticed that there's no DNA information available in his case, which definitely complicates things. It makes me wonder how different this investigation might have been if they’d had the kind of forensic tools we use today. The fact that his dental and fingerprint records are on hand gives a sliver of hope, but with no major leads, it feels like it’s not enough.
Does anyone here have insights or know if there were any unexplored areas in Montebello or nearby that might warrant another search? I haven’t come across anything that suggests new search areas were pursued, but I could be missing something. Even the smallest detail could make a difference. Thoughts?
