It's truly devastating to see such violence unfold in a community. I've been thinking about the safety of these local spots, like Hakim's Restaurant, where the shooting happened. It’s supposed to be a place where people gather for a meal, not a scene of tragedy. Knowing that a young life was ended and another person injured there makes you question if we can ever feel at ease in our neighborhood hangouts. It's gut-wrenching to hear how quickly everything unfolded, and even more so to think about Ahmir's family and friends who are enduring this immense pain. Ahmir deserved so much more. I sincerely hope the NYPD is able to track down those responsible swiftly. If anyone witnessed anything, no matter how small it may seem, please consider reaching out to the Crime Stoppers hotline. We all need to do our part to bring justice for Ahmir and help restore a sense of safety in our community.
