I can’t stop thinking about the role of community spaces in this case. The fact that the initial gunshots were reported near the George Washington Carver Homes really ties into the broader issues faced by neighborhoods like these. It’s heartbreaking to see how such violence disrupts a community where families are just trying to live safely. The community engagement in Selma is vital right now. Maybe someone saw something or heard something that could help. It’s painful to think about the fear and confusion Jermaine's family and friends must be experiencing. I hope the police can piece things together soon and that anyone with even the slightest info feels compelled to reach out. Justice for Jermaine is not just justice for his family but a step towards peace for everyone in Selma.
