I’ve been thinking a lot about the neighbors who had to witness this tragedy unfold at the apartment complex. It must be haunting to have your sense of safety shattered so abruptly, and I can't imagine what Sabrae and Raul's families are going through. It's terrible to think that this level of violence could happen in what should be a safe and peaceful environment. I keep wondering if there’s any more information about the interaction before the shooting. Clearly, something escalated quickly, but without more details, it’s hard to understand. I really hope people who might have seen or heard more come forward soon so the families can get some answers and maybe even a bit of closure. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this terrible incident.

KCPD has asked anyone with information to call homicide detectives at 816-234-5043 or the anonymous TIPS line at 816-474-8477 , so if neighbors heard or saw anything please reach out, even small details can help 😔. I read a witness said the shots sounded like heavy, automatic-style gunfire and that he and his 12-year-old cousin ducked to the floor, so theres likely people who heard more than they realized; dont assume what you heard is insignificant.
