I've been digging into the chilling events surrounding the "Bigfoot Killer" case, and something that really stands out to me is how the community in Cass Corridor must have felt during those terrifying months. Imagine living in constant fear, knowing someone was prowling the streets, targeting women who were just trying to survive.
I came across some old articles mentioning how neighborhood watch groups started forming to keep an eye out, hoping to prevent another tragedy. It’s heartbreaking to think about how little resources and support there was for victims back then, especially those living in poverty and involved in prostitution. They were already marginalized, and here they were, facing the palpable threat of a killer at a time when crime was already rampant.
I can’t help but wonder how those community efforts might have actually contributed, if at all, to any progress in the investigation. Even today, it must be incredibly frustrating for the families who never got the closure of seeing justice served. My heart goes out to them, and I hope that one day, advancements in technology or a new lead might finally solve these cases.
