Hey everyone, I recently came across Donald Stanton Beckstead's case and something's been bugging me. Does anyone remember if there were other unsolved cases or missing persons reports around the Guadalupe River area back in the early 90s? I just find it odd that someone could vanish without a trace, especially in a community where people are usually pretty aware of each other's business. The placement of where he lived might have meant he had passed cross with others in local encampments or even with residents nearby. Could there be a chance someone saw something and didn't realize it was connected? I wonder if law enforcement might have overlooked potentially related incidents. If there’s anyone still connected to the area or with memories from back then, every bit of info could be helpful!

Hey everyone, I recently came across Donald Stanton Beckstead's case and found it puzzling how there aren't more leads on him. One thing that struck me was the unique tattoos he had. The peacock and "My wife, Sue" tattoos are pretty specific, and you’d think they would help jog someone’s memory. Tattoos, especially ones connected to personal relationships, usually have stories behind them. I wonder if anyone in the tattoo community might remember doing this work or if these details have been shared enough in those circles. Maybe revisiting places and people tied to his tattoos could uncover fresh leads. Thoughts?

I've been going down the rabbit hole researching Donald Beckstead's disappearance, and I found myself fixated on the area where he was last seen. The San Jose location near the Guadalupe River was quite remote back in the early '90s, and I wonder if this played a role in why there have been so few sightings or leads. From what I've gathered, the stretch near Curtner and Almaden was often neglected, providing both a haven and potential danger for those like Don who lived there. Does anyone here have insights into the area's history or changes over the years? Could any old-timers from San Jose recall anything unusual from that era? It seems odd that no one mentioned seeing or hearing anything out of the ordinary considering the distinctive tattoos and scars Don had. Sometimes, it's little bits of local knowledge that can turn up new insights. Hopefully, reopening discussions might lend some fresh perspectives to this long-standing mystery.
