I've been looking into the disappearance of Albert Leon Hayes, and it's so painful to see how he just vanished without immediate alarm. The lack of ties to the area for these men meant nobody noticed quickly enough that something was terribly wrong. Hayes was among the many whose lives were brutally cut short, and the fact that such a terrifying nightmare went unseen for so long is haunting. The trust placed in someone like Corona, who was in a position to offer much-needed work, only for it to end in betrayal and tragedy, is beyond comprehension. I can't help but think about the families and friends left behind with so many unanswered questions. We often forget the vulnerability of those who live on society's margins, moving from place to place just to get by. We owe it to their memories to pay attention and protect those who might not have a voice in their darkest moments.
