I've been following the Carol and Ronald Gilmore case, and it really makes you think about the struggles that elderly couples in poor health face. It's just so tragic that what should be their peaceful final years turned into something so devastating. I wonder about Ronald's state of mind leading up to this heart-wrenching incident. Did he feel he was sparing his wife more suffering because of her medical issues, or was there something else entirely going on? It's hard to imagine the desperation he must have felt. My thoughts go out to their family and friends. If anyone here has thoughts or info on resources available for elderly individuals in similar circumstances, it might help others avoid such a tragedy.
