I can't stop thinking about the role security played that night at Mr. Ed’s Bar & Grille. How could someone bring a firearm into such a popular venue without being noticed? Given that Put-in-Bay is a major tourist spot, you’d expect there to be a pretty solid security protocol in place to prevent anyone from bringing weapons. My heart goes out to Robert Russell’s family—nobody should ever experience such a loss while simply enjoying a night out. This incident raises so many questions about the level of security in these crowded public spaces. I hope we see some changes so this never happens again. I'm keeping the Russell family in my thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
