I can’t stop thinking about the community vigil held for Deion Byrd last weekend. It was such a touching event, seeing everyone from all over the neighborhood come together to remember him. You could feel the deep sense of loss and the overwhelming love for him in the air. Deion was more than a victim; he was a beloved son, a friend, and a hopeful young man. Watching his mother surrounded by friends and family, I was reminded of the heartbreaking void left behind whenever a life is taken too soon. It's moments like these that really push us to look for solutions to the violence that's taking our youth. How many other vigils will it take before something changes? Sending thoughts and lots of love to everyone affected by this tragedy. Stay strong, y'all.
