I’ve been following the case of Erma Qualls, and something that's been bothering me is the role of the ankle monitor in all of this. Why are these systems failing us? Mysiah Clark was out on a $100,000 bond and reportedly removed his ankle monitor weeks before Erma was tragically killed. If the system had worked the way it should have, maybe she’d still be alive. Was there a delay in reporting it to the authorities, or is it an issue with capacity? It's terrifying to think these "safety nets" aren't as foolproof as they should be. My thoughts go out to Erma's family and friends; I can't imagine the pain they're going through knowing this might have been preventable. It's crucial for the community to press for changes so that offenders can't slip through the cracks so easily. Anyone else worried about this kind of oversight in other cases?
