Hey everyone, I’ve been following the tragic case of Nevada N. Mosley, and something that's been on my mind is the role that the children played during such a traumatic event. It's deeply saddening to think about what they've witnessed and how this could affect them long-term. Witnessing violence, especially involving a parent, can have profound impacts on young ones. I read that one of the children was actually awake and saw the confrontation between Mosley and Shirley unfold. I just can't begin to imagine how terrifying that must have been for that child, not to mention the other children who identified Shirley as the shooter. The bravery it takes to come forward and provide information in such a situation is immense. As a community, we need to consider what kind of support these kids will need in the coming days and years. I hope that law enforcement, family services, and the community are stepping up to offer counseling and support. These kids are victims in their own right and will need a lot of love and care to heal from this. Anyone have insights on resources for children who've been through similar traumatic experiences? It would be great to share some information or connect with someone who knows more about supporting kids in crisis situations. Stay safe, everyone, and let’s keep Nevada’s family, especially the children, in our thoughts.
