I’ve been following the case surrounding Luis D. Torres Jr.’s murder closely, and something that really struck me was the quick action taken by law enforcement to apprehend Federico Perez Polanco before he could flee the country. It's reassuring to see such swift inter-agency collaboration to prevent him from escaping justice. I can't begin to imagine the relief that Luis’s family must have felt knowing that the suspect was caught so quickly. It doesn't ease the pain of losing a loved one, but at least it ensures that the person responsible won't be able to evade the consequences. I hope that as the legal process unfolds, there will be transparency, and most importantly, justice for Luis and his family.
