I find myself thinking often about that message India's son sent to his aunt during the argument. It must have been terrifying for him. The presence of mind he showed to reach out for help during such a tense and dangerous situation is incredible for someone so young. It breaks my heart thinking about the trauma that he, his sister, and their cousin have been through. I can't imagine how confusing and scary that night must have been for them, hiding and hoping the police would arrive in time. My thoughts are with India's family as they navigate this immense loss. I hope the community continues to support and uplift these kids as they begin the long road to healing. This case really highlights the importance of having support systems in place for families experiencing domestic issues.
