This case is so chilling. I’ve been thinking about the faulty oxygen equipment that Donald Harvey used. It's such a terrifying thought that something intended to save lives could be manipulated to take them instead. Given that people, including John V. Combs, trusted the hospital and its staff with their health, it's heartbreaking to realize how deep the betrayals went. It's scary to think about how many patients were at Marymount during that time, completely unaware of the danger lurking in the place that should have been their refuge. I'm wondering if hospital staff had any suspicions or unusual observations about malfunctioning oxygen equipment, or if Harvey went under the radar with such ease. It makes me feel for the families who never got the chance to understand or seek justice until Harvey's confessions finally surfaced. The gaps in oversight and protection are just glaring, and it makes me hope today's systems are more foolproof against similar betrayals of trust. This case reminds me just how crucial it is for hospitals to have stringent checks in place to prevent such awful possibilities. My heart goes out to the Combs family and all the other victims' families still dealing with the fallout of his actions.
