Hey everyone, I just wanted to talk about William Bowling's unfortunate and untimely death at Marymount Hospital back in 1970. It's devastating to think about the trust we place in healthcare professionals, only for something so tragic to happen because of someone like Donald Harvey. It's troubling to imagine how Bowling's family coped with the mystery surrounding his death for so many years. They probably never suspected foul play initially because of his existing medical issues. For roughly 17 years, they lived with a partial truth, unaware that his passing was part of a larger series of malicious acts by someone in a position of care. I can't help but wonder about the sheer lack of oversight at hospitals during that time. Were there any warning signs missed? Did anyone at the hospital feel something was off about Harvey even before his arrest in 1987? It seems alarming that a pattern of unexplained deaths went unnoticed for so long. My heart goes out to all the families affected and I truly hope that this case, and others like it, encouraged hospitals and care facilities to implement more rigorous checks to prevent such horrific acts from ever occurring again. What are your thoughts or questions about how things might have been different if this had come to light sooner?
