Hey everyone, I've been following the Alfred C. McKenzie case from Norfolk, and something that's really been on my mind is the community impact of this tragedy. I live not too far from South Cape Henry Avenue, and I can't help but notice a shift in the neighborhood since that awful day. It feels like there's a lingering cloud over the area, with more people seemingly on edge, and understandably so. Alfred was someone's son, possibly a brother or a dad; a real person with connections and relationships, not just a name in the news. It's difficult knowing that not only has his family lost him, but the community has lost a member too. The fact that the legal process is mostly out of the public eye adds to the frustration for those of us who are left with questions. We all hope for justice, but I also feel there's a strong need for healing here locally. I sincerely hope that as more information eventually comes out, it brings some sense of closure or understanding, not only for Alfred’s loved ones but for everyone who has been impacted by his loss. Has anyone else around here noticed changes or have thoughts on the community's feelings?
