I’ve been following the Wilber Elmer McMillan case for quite some time, and a detail that really sticks with me is the timing of his disappearance. March 2, 1997, was supposed to be a monumental day for Wilber and his wife – their 40th wedding anniversary. Can you imagine the emotional weight of that occasion? It's difficult to grasp why he chose to leave so early in the morning. Was it spontaneous, or had he planned something all along? Given his history with depression post-retirement, I wonder if he felt disconnected and desperate for a change. But still, leaving his glasses behind makes me pause. Has anyone else thought about the significance of that? It seems intentional, almost like a sign he planned to return. It's been over two decades, and I hope we can shine more light on this mystery. Thoughts anyone?
I find the details of Wilber McMillan's last day especially intriguing, mainly because of the items he took and what he left behind. The fact that he left his eyeglasses at home seems odd, especially since most people who wear them regularly would rarely go without. Could it indicate that he was planning to return shortly, maybe thinking he was just stepping out for a quick drive or to clear his mind? Also, the $70 in cash he carried doesn't seem like a huge sum, so it's unlikely he planned to go far. I can’t help but wonder if this speaks to his state of mind at the time. Local sightings or witnesses would have really helped, given the period this happened. Still, I'm curious if anyone knows more about any updates that might have popped up over the years to shed light on whether he was acting out of character in any other ways back then.
