Did anyone else feel a deep sense of loss when they read about Bart Diguglielmo's senseless death? It's incredibly sad to think that a man who dedicated his life to helping others—first as an Army staff sergeant and then as a trauma nurse—had his life cut short over something as trivial as a parking space. The part that really got to me was reading how Bart raised his arms in the air before he was shot. It's haunting to think about his final moments, especially since he initially tried to de-escalate the situation by moving his vehicle. It's hard to fathom that a simple errand could end this way. I hope the investigation brings clarity and justice, but more than anything, I just feel for his family. They lost someone special, a person who gave so much to others. Keeping them in my thoughts as they navigate this devastating time.
