I've been thinking a lot about the courage it must have taken for Doris to try and leave that relationship. It’s such a difficult thing to do, and she had her whole life ahead of her with her four kids. It really makes me wish there were more support systems in place that could have helped her feel safer while going through this difficult transition. It's so awful how her story ended, and I can only hope we learn from this to better protect others in similar situations. My heart goes out to her family and kids. They shouldn’t have had to pay such a heavy price.
