It's so unsettling to read about the Basmajian family tragedy. I can't help but wonder about the role postpartum depression might have played in this horrific event. Mental health struggles are often stigmatized, and as a community, we must get better at recognizing and supporting those who might be suffering. Marine Basmajian must have been in such a dark place to carry out such an unthinkable act, especially involving her own children. My heart goes out to the family who found them and to those close to them who saw no warning signs. Let’s hope awareness of mental health resources grows from this so that future tragedies might be prevented. Sending love to all affected by this devastating loss.
