Have you guys ever noticed how Sharon Kay Brown's disappearance kind of lines up with that increase in missing persons cases around Tacoma in the late '90s? I’m not saying they’re definitely connected, but it’s just strange how there are other similar unsolved cases from that time period in the same city. What really catches my attention is the lack of any solid leads or suspects, which is frustrating for sure. It's like she vanished into thin air that Thanksgiving Day in 1998. Are any of you familiar with this trend or the other cases that got lumped with Sharon’s disappearance? There must be something that links them, even if it’s just a shadow of commonality. Thoughts?

Hey everyone, I've been digging through old newspaper archives and online databases about the cases of missing women in Tacoma during the late 90s and early 2000s, including Sharon Kay Brown's case. It struck me how little media coverage these cases received at the time. Aside from a few missing person posters and brief articles, it seems like they barely made a blip in the news cycle. Do you think this lack of media attention could have impacted the investigation’s progress? I feel like more publicity might have generated additional leads or tips. It's frustrating that decades later, there's still so much uncertainty surrounding Sharon's disappearance, and I wonder if things would be different if these cases had received more focus back then. What are your thoughts?

I've been digging into old newspaper archives and came across something interesting regarding Sharon Kay Brown's case. Back in the late '90s, there was a lot of community concern about the number of missing women in Tacoma. I found a neighborhood newsletter from 1999 that organized a community watch in some areas, urging residents to stay vigilant. People were speculating about whether a serial predator was active, and there were some safety meetings held by local groups. Although these efforts didn't lead to direct evidence in Sharon’s case, it shows how much her disappearance, along with others, really rattled the community at the time. It's baffling that after all these years, we're still searching for answers. I wonder if anyone here remembers those meetings or has access to any notes from those discussions? Sometimes little details can become important pieces to the puzzle. ?️♀️
