I can't stop thinking about Joseph Gray's bravery on that tragic night. The fact that he was stepping up to pick up extra shifts in anticipation of becoming a dad just breaks my heart for his family and his unborn child. It’s truly unimaginable, and my heart goes out to his girlfriend who's having to face this loss while pregnant. I hope that there can be more community safety measures put in place in Deep Ellum. Such a lively neighborhood should be about good times and fun, not marred by violence. It’s uplifting to hear about the swift actions of others in the club to tackle and hold the shooter until the police arrived. While it doesn’t bring Joseph back, knowing that people acted quickly might offer a tiny bit of solace to his loved ones. May they find strength and support in each other during this incredibly difficult time.
