Hey everyone, I recently read about the tragic shooting of Deshawn Bell at the Crown Food Mart in Cahokia Heights, and it got me thinking about the crucial role that location seems to play in this case. It's baffling to me that something like this could happen right across from a police station. Wouldn't you expect that to be a deterrent for such violent acts? It really raises questions about the boldness and motives of the person responsible for this terrible crime. My heart goes out to Deshawn's family and friends. It must be so difficult not having answers or a sense of closure. I hope that the proximity to the police station ends up aiding the investigation, either through footage or quick response times, though it doesn’t seem like it helped prevent the incident. Does anyone know if there are any surveillance cameras in the area that could provide some leads? I understand they might not release everything to the public, but it would be reassuring to hear that there are some avenues being explored actively.
