Stephen D. Forbes was 28 and co-owner of the Novel-T Shirt Store in Phoenix, New York when he disappeared after leaving a friend’s home in Liverpool on July 8, 1980. He was driving a blue 1977 Dodge pickup truck; his family reported him missing three days later. Investigators found his truck abandoned in the long-term parking lot at Hancock International Airport in Syracuse, believed to have been left soon after 3 p.m. on the day he was last seen.

On August 19, 1980, Forbes’s body was discovered in a remote, heavily wooded area off a small dirt road near Route 20 in the town of Lafayette, Onondaga County, in a spot where construction debris and other trash had been discarded. The death is classified as a homicide and remains unsolved. Law enforcement has offered a reward and publicly appealed for information; no arrests or publicly identified suspects have been announced.

Did anyone in the Liverpool, Syracuse, or Lafayette areas in 1980 see Forbes, his truck, or anything unusual near Hancock Airport or Route 20 that summer?
